Gabriel Guillén – An International Career Dedicated to the Classical GuitarGabriel Guillén is an internationally acclaimed classical guitarist, educator, and cultural ambassador whose artistic career has contributed significantly to the worldwide recognition and development of the classical guitar.Born in Maracay, Venezuela, Gabriel Guillén began his musical journey at an early age and has built an extraordinary international career spanning more than three decades. Since the beginning of his professional career in 1987, he has performed in more than 48 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and beyond, bringing the richness of the classical guitar repertoire to audiences around the world.A particularly significant moment in his international career was his invitation to perform for UNESCO in Paris in 1996, an acknowledgment of his artistic excellence and his contribution to the international cultural dialogue through music.His artistic path represents a bridge between the great Latin American guitar tradition and the European classical music heritage. After receiving a scholarship in 1988 to continue his studies in Europe with renowned professors Walter Würdinger in Vienna and Konrad Ragossnig in Zurich, he established himself as an important figure in the international guitar scene.Throughout his career, Gabriel Guillén has contributed to the history of the guitar not only as a performer, but also as an educator, mentor, and promoter of guitar culture. Through concerts, recordings, masterclasses, jury activities, and teaching, he has influenced generations of young musicians and supported the continued development of classical guitar worldwide.His commitment to cultural exchange and humanitarian values has also been recognized through his connection with the Rotary movement, where he is regarded as a figure who embodies the ideals of international friendship, service, and cultural understanding.Since 1998, as Artistic Director of the International Guitar Festival Rust, Gabriel Guillén has shaped the festival into an important international platform for classical guitar, bringing together renowned artists, young talents, and guitar enthusiasts from around the world. Through his work, he continues the legacy of great guitar figures such as Maestro Alirio Díaz, strengthening the connection between Venezuela, Austria, and the global guitar community.Gabriel Guillén’s contribution to the history of the guitar lies in his artistic achievements, his international presence, his dedication to education, and his lifelong commitment to promoting the guitar as a universal language of culture and friendship.

 

 

 Diana Guillén Navarro was born in Lviv, Ukraine, and studied classical guitar at the Lviv National Music Academy. She has performed extensively in Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Ukraine, earning recognition for her expressive musicianship, refined artistry, and technical excellence.

Among her international engagements are important concert performances in Portugal, including televised appearances on Portuguese television in Madeira, which further enhanced her international reputation.

Until 2016, Diana Guillén Navarro taught guitar in Ukraine, where her dedication and outstanding pedagogical work enabled her students to achieve remarkable success, winning approximately 35 prizes at national guitar competitions. Her commitment to musical excellence and the development of young musicians has earned her widespread recognition as an educator.

In addition to her concert and teaching activities, she is regularly invited to serve as a jury member at international guitar competitions throughout Europe, where she contributes her expertise to the evaluation and promotion of emerging young artists.

Since 2020, she has been a Lecturer in Classical Guitar at the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna.

As a composer, Diana Guillén Navarro is a registered member of AKM and Austro Mechana. Her original works have been published and are distinguished by lyrical expressiveness, refined craftsmanship, and a unique synthesis of Eastern European musical traditions with the Western classical guitar repertoire.
